Taxis

Taxi transportation in the city of Cusco is abundant and affordable. You will find taxis everywhere and at any time. Prices range from S/. 4 for “trips” in the city center and surroundings and S/. 12 to the airport. During the night the price rises to S/. 5 and S/. 15 respectively. There are radio taxi agencies. They are more expensive but safer and with vehicles in better condition.

You can also hire taxis by the hour or for the entire day, allowing you to plan the itinerary according to your preference. Microbuses

They have a capacity for 22 seated passengers and 15 standing (usually this is not respected). They have designated stops, so if you want to board one of these, you have to wait for them at stops that are properly identified. To get off the vehicle, you must approach the collector and indicate where you wish to do so.

Others

In some towns with a warmer climate like Quillabamba, a means of transportation known as “mototaxi” or motorcycle designed to carry up to 3 passengers is abundant, its cost is low, between S/. 1.50 and S/. precios varían (consulta la web oficial). Another uncommon service in inland locations (Sicuani, Yauri) is the “taxi cholo”, a tricycle or bicycle-cart pedaled by the driver, adapted to carry 2 people. It is not dangerous, but slow compared to other motorized means of transport.
