There are four unmissable places in the surroundings of the city that you cannot miss
Sacsayhuamu00e1n
It is located just two kilometers from the city, in the upper area; according to chroniclers, this construction was a temple of the sun and arsenal; only with the arrival of the Spanish was it given the name fortress. The stone-fitting technique stands out, some of which weigh 350 tons.
Qenqo
In what may have been a ceremonial center, a giant monolith can be seen, possibly dedicated to an animal deity. In its underground galleries we find niches and an altar that was perhaps used for making sacrifices.
Puca Pucara
This complex is located 7 km from the city center; it is believed to have served control functions and as an administrative center of the empire, or perhaps a resting place for the entourage accompanying the Inca on his route to Tambomachay.
Tambomachay
It is known as the Inca Baths. This was probably a center for water worship. Four walls at different levels can be observed. In the last wall we find niches where, according to historians, ceremonies to the Sun with water rites were performed.
